Tool That I have used:
I have used ahrefs.com to analyze the various statistics. As you know no tool can give you the accurate results. But the data will give you a good hint.
1) Mommyhood101.com
This site has been in operation since 2009.
Niche: Baby Products. It covers reviews of some of the most popular baby products in an unbiased manner. It looks at everything from bottles to trampolines with hands-on reviews, comparisons to other products, and ratings accordingly.
This small business is owned by a family, DITYE, LLC, which is run by a husband and wife duo and their parents. In addition to the reviews about the best baby products, the wife of the pair runs a blog on the site covering a mother’s most asked questions called “Mommy’s Common Concerns.”
Content: They publish a good amount of information articles as well as review contents. The review contents are mostly product round-up in 1000-1500 words. The structure of their review contents follows:
- Introductory paragraphs
- Description of 5-7 products.
They also are targeting the product+ reviews and best + product keywords and long tail keywords with less or no SEO competition.
In Google, I have found nearly 140 pages are indexed.
Traffic: The site gets 51K monthly visitors and ranks for nearly 54K keywords. The majority of the keywords that get traffic are buying keywords. Their best page gets nearly 5000 monthly visitors and ranks for 537 keywords. Nearly 12 pages that get over 1000 monthly visitors and nearly 20 pages that get 500-1000 monthly visitors.
Referring Domains: 234.
Comment: The site is not like typical Amazon product review based on a single or broader niche. It is rather a blog around baby and mom which run by a family who is passionate and knowledgeable on the subject matter. I think they are very poor with formatting the content. The paragraphs are too long with so many lines which is very hard to read. They would do better if they had followed the best practices to format a post for SEO and readability.
2) SafeBabyReviews.com
Niche: This blog focuses on various baby safety products for review purposes. It covers everything from humidifiers to walkers and mattresses for cribs to monitors.
If you observe the site is not about a single type of products or about a broader niche with sub-niches. They created the site around a theme – baby’s safety.
Content: Most of the contents are product roundups targeting the product+ reviews and best + product keywords and long tail keywords with less or no SEO competition.
On Google, just 38 pages are indexed.
The length of the contents is over 2000 words. Each of their content ranks for a good number of long tail keywords.
I also have checked the structure of their contents. Here is what I have found:
- Introduction
- Benefits of the product
- What to looks for in a product
- Common Complaints
- Safety information for the product
- Best Products – basically they write a short description, pros, and cons of 5 to 10 products.
- Conclusion
They have published just a few number of information articles. Most of their visitors are coming using the product related keywords.
Traffic: According to Ahrefs.com the site gets nearly 31k organic traffic and ranks for more than 21k+ keywords.
Referring Domains: 155.
Comment: It is one of the successful sites that I have found while researching the successful Amazon site. With just below 50 pages and 155 root domains, they are receiving more than 31k traffic which I think good enough to earn more than 3000 per month. The success is for three reasons I think. One, they are targeting long tail buying keywords and they write long articles which help them rank for a good number of other long tail keywords. The third factor is the age of the site. It is nearly 3 years old site.
One of their page gets 15000+ monthly visitors and ranks for 5656 keywords. The main keyword the page is targeting has 1300 monthly search volume. The page is also 2000-2500 words long. It was published on 19 August 2014. Interestingly, 5 pages bring 80% traffic to the site. The other 4 pages get 1500 -3500 visitors.
3) Bestbassfishinglures.com
Niche: Bass fishing lures. The proprietor started fishing with a lot of questions that could hardly be answered about the sheer number of bass fishing lures available. He had a hard time acquiring a lot of information about which lure is right for which style.
Traffic: The site gets nearly 18k monthly traffic and ranks for nearly 8K visitors. Like any other sites that we have researched the site also have 5 pages that bring the majority of the visitors. Their top page gets nearly 7000 monthly visitors. And 4 other pages get nearly 1000 visitors per month. Nearly 10 pages that get 500 to 1000 visitors while the rest are getting closely 100 visitors per month.
Content: Like any other Amazon niche site, the site also has content the product+ reviews and best + product keywords and long tail keywords with less or no SEO competition. But the content structure is different. They have not added product list in their content. They rather have added product links as text links and native ad on their contents.
Most of their contents follow the following structure:
- Introduction
- Selecting product name
- Sub heading
- Sub heading
- Sub heading
- ….
- How to do fishing
- Conclusion
Referring Domains: 63.
Comment: The products the site are promoting are mostly inexpensive products. They are ranking for mostly buying keywords which mean they are sending a good number of buyers to the Amazon.
You might know that if you send buyers to Amazon, they might buy completely a different product and more products. This site earns money for your, the amount could be not as much as others. I am sure they could increase the conversion and earn more money if they would add a list of products with a short description, pros and cons, an image and a call to action button.
4) Fishfindersource.com
Niche: The site is about Fish Finder, a very specific niche and publishes content about devices that help to find fish in water.
Traffic: The site gets 16k monthly visitors and rank for 11k keywords. The majority of their visitors are coming using buying keywords.
The top page brings nearly 3200 monthly visitors. The second perform brings nearly 2000 visitors. There are nearly 10 to 12 pages that get nearly 150 to 600 visitors per month.
Content: I have found 145 pages indexed in Google. They also publish content around buying keywords like best and reviews. But most of their contents are single product review content. The structure of the single product as I have on their site is:
- Introduction
- Feature 1
- Feature 2
- Feature 3
- …….
The structure of the product round up content is:
- Introduction
- Best Product List – basically they write a short description, pros, and cons of 5 to 10 products.
- Conclusion
Referring Domains: 188.
Comment: The site has a lot of room to improve almost in every aspect of the design, content, linking to products, keywords targeting and link building. Still, it makes a decent amount of money with the 18k monthly visitors.
5) Memoryfoamdoctor.com
Niche: This website focuses on which memory foam mattress, pillow, or topper should be invested in for any home. There a good number of niche sites created based on the same niche. It is a bit competitive niche.
Traffic: The site gets nearly 26k monthly visitors and ranks for 28K keywords. Most of the keywords are buying keywords. Their top page gets nearly 4100 monthly visitors and it ranks for nearly 3000 plus keywords. Two other pages get over 3000 monthly visitors. 3 gets 1000 to 2000 month visitors.
Content: 370 pages indexed in Google. They publish really long articles. Some articles are around 10,000 words. Besides targeting best+ product, product/brand + reviews keywords. The structure of the contents is very organized.
Referring Domains: 327.
Comment: Besides Amazon, they also affiliates of other networks like ShareASale.com. It seems the owner of the site is very serious and has a long-term goal. The owner is investing a good amount of money and time.
